Toddler World

A look into the life of 3 small kids and their parents

I’m back, and ALMOST better than ever…..

Well, we made it! After several cases of strep throat (or something similar), a bout of flu, a lost cellphone, and a few wrong turns…..we have finally settled down in Colorado! I am feeling “at home” now, thanks to my mom who unpacked my kitchen for me, some new friends out here who stocked our pantry and fridge, and some old friends and family from Wisconsin who have called to tell us we are missed.

We received such a warm welcome out here and it made me stop and think: what is the best way I can help someone when they move in to a new place, especially cross country? It was definitely a blessing for me to have toilet paper and paper towels for our first night. A hot meal on our second night was great too.

What things have you done to help someone move in?

  1. I was wondering about the extremely large letters. I kept shouting back at the computer, “OK, Sarah. You’re missed!! Enough already!”
I am so glad you are getting settled. How is the blog thing going (switching it to a private one). Let me know. I got a job today at a private daycare/kindergarten. It is very cute and small. We will see how this works out. I will call you next week.

  2. Glad to hear you made it okay and that you are settling in! When we moved here people also filled the pantry before we came, but not only that they redid the whole inside of the parsonage. It was amazing the worse thing about coming here was the parsonage, when we got here that was not the case (new carpet in whole house, walls all painted white, new tile on bathroom floor, and new window trim). It such a blessing that people did this for us.

  3. I was wondering about the letters myself :

So glad you made it safe and sound!I can’t believe you are gone :( I so enjoyed our last visit!

I know that the best moving gift we ever got was the biggest stack of paper plates, napkins, plastic cups and silverware that I had ever seen. It was so nice to not have the pressure of having to think about dishes!

Hope the settling in goes well :)

  5. I’m glad you made it! It’s hard to believe you are in Colorado now.

Over the years, we’ve helped a few people move their stuff from one place to another. Before our Pastor and family moved into the parsonage a couple years ago, the church family cleaned and stocked the parsonage with food.
