A look into the life of 3 small kids and their parents

Shopping these days……!

I think this would be the coolest way to grocery shop—I may actually try it sometime. Does anyone do this?

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

It has been forever since I have posted (shame on me!) –I wanted to make sure I wished you all a wonderful Christmas tomorrow! Our house is not as prepared for Christmas as usual–as far as decorating and baking and shopping is concerned–but somehow I do not feel upset by this. It has been a peaceful few weeks, focusing on Jesus coming to earth and the impact that had on our lives and our futures. The girls really understand the reason for Christmas this year, and it has been so nice to celebrate that!

I enjoyed Sara’s house tour on her blog…..perhaps I will do that next year. But I did not have the time to think about it this year, so here is my Christmas spirit in pictures.

My favorite Christmas treats this year~!

Our little Christmas tree (we never got around to cutting one down!) :-)

We don’t have a mantle, so we make do…..I think this is my favorite part of our decorating

Our little family

Merry Christmas, everyone!!! Enjoy this season of family and giving, always being mindful of where this event culminated–at the Cross! Thanks be unto God for His indescribable gift!

WE HAVE A WINNER!

OK, this was not a very successful contest since only 3 people entered it. :-) But I cannot wait any longer for the stragglers (….G-knee….)–I have to put an Usborne order in tomorrow so I need to announce the winner.
It was a tie between 2 of you with 8 right answers out of 22 (it was a hard quiz!). But the winner pulled ahead with a 50% right-answer ratio…….11 out of 22!
Congratulations go to Gretchen! Let me know what book you want SOON! (I personally love the Christmas Things to Make and Do–they are my kind of craft projects.) :-)
Good job and thanks to Morning Rose and Jana for playing also.
(Oh, and here are the answers–I’m sure you all wanted to know who was who!)

*Sara planned the hippie party in my dorm–I just found a picture the other day of me dressed as the baby. :-)
*Jill got in an accident with me two years ago on Black Friday–it totaled my nice (paid-for) van. Sad….
*Erica once went to Monona Terrace in Madison with me and crashed a jugglers’ wedding reception–it was definitely an experience!
*Tiffany went out and bought all of my Christmas gifts last year. She always remembers when I say that I like something, so she helped Josh out in that department. :-)
*Danielle was my dorm sup my freshman year, poor dear. I was a handful, and God knew that I needed someone like her to “guide” me along that first year.
*My bro-in-law Tim is in the Marines–just got back from Iraq in April. We are so proud of his service!
*I yelled at G-knee twice when we were making a trip into Chicago. We were tired and slightly tense after getting lost. :-) Love ya, G!
*Morning Rose’s oldest son was in my preschool S.S. class–he always gave profound answers.:-)
*Casey used to live a block away from me–that is actually how I met her.
*Jana and I used to play stupid practical jokes if we were ever stuck in the dorm on a Friday night (not that we were often–we had so many dates and all……)
*My poor husband planned our engagement for the top of the Sears Tower but when we got there, the guard wouldn’t let us go up because it was too fogged in. It was still a nice proposal, in a different location, and I was still totally surprised. :-)
*Amy and I once went to a Beach Boys concert (before they all started dying)….that was back in my wild days also. :-)
*Beth’s hubby (better known as Tim) had a Packer bathroom in their little apt. after they first got married. Since then, I have given into the Packer craze also, and have even allowed my children to dress in green and gold…..sigh.
*Gretchen decorated her Christmas tree in the American spirit in their first apt. after they got married. It was so cute!
*Donette and I once dressed up for Halloween with a bunch of other girls and went to Ed Debevic’s for a party. (I think Donette was Donna Reed or something and I was a hippie.)
*KJ decided to TP our apartment while we were on our honeymoon–I am still not sure why she had keys to our place….. :-)
*Karen and I used to let each other know about the good garage sales in town!
*Kevin, my newest relative, ran for the Constitution Party in MA.
*Beth took me home to Indiana for Thanksgiving–her family is great! I think I actually went there several times.
*Kristi once went on a date with my husband in college. Obviously nothing came of it! :-) I am glad….
*Melissa and I had a blast one summer school–she decided we needed a tv to watch to pass the time. I still can’t believe we didn’t get caught–Danielle, where were you? :-) JK-I’m sure you would have found us out!
*And last, but not least, Tansy was my roomate. I think that was the year she was sick most of the time though, so I didn’t really see her much!
Lots of good memories–thank you to my friends for all of them!

Extending the "deadline"….

OK, I know it is a busy time of year….so if anyone else wanted to try their hand at the “Guess Who” quiz, you have until tomorrow, the 13th. ( I am actually too busy right now to figure out who the winner is, so another day will be good for me too.:-) Good luck!

Guess Who???

I think I have a history with everyone on my blogroll (minus the “strangers” links at the bottom). Some I have a longer (and more interesting :-) history with, but there is a story behind each of my friendships.

So I thought I would play a little game here at Toddler World, and see who knows the most about my friends–or at least who is the best guesser!

Here’s what you do:

You will probably need a piece of paper to write down your answers…..Match the name of the person from my blogroll with the number of the scenerio that you think describes them. Whoever gets the most right will win a book from my Usborne site (you can pick this, this, or this as your prize choice and write the title in your comment along with your answers.) You will have until Tues. the 11th to guess and I will announce the winner on the 13th. Happy guessing! :-)

Here are the questions:
1) Who planned a hippie party in our dorm (to which I came dressed as a baby)?
2) Who got in a car accident with me?
3) Who crashed a wedding reception with me?
4) Who was my husband’s personal Christmas shopper for me last year?
5) Who was my dorm sup my freshman year?
6) Who is in the Marines?
7) Who did I get in a fight with twice while driving through Chicago (besides my husband :-) ?
8) Whose son did I teach in Sunday School?
9) Who used to be my neighbor?
10) Who played (dumb) practical jokes with me in the dorm?
11) Who planned his engagement for the top of the Sears Tower but it was fogged in?
12) Who did I see the Beach Boys in concert with?
13) Who had a Packer bathroom (and may still….I don’t know)?
14) Who decorated their Christmas tree in American flags?
15) Who had a costume party at Ed Debevic’s with me?
16) Who TP’d my apartment while I was on my honeymoon?
17) Who was my favorite garage sale-ing buddy?
18) Who ran for Congress?
19) Who took me home for Thanksgiving my freshman year?
20) Who went on a date (of sorts) with my husband? :-)
21) Who snuck a t.v. into the dorm during summer school so we could watch it?
22) Who was my roomate my sophmore year?

Here is the list of friends and family (to make it easier for you):
-My Man (Josh)
-Jill

-Jana

~Happy Birthday, Big E!~

I cannot believe that our baby is 5 years old already! Yesterday was her golden birthday and she celebrated on the airplane coming home from my parents’ house. I am blessed to have her in my life–and thankful that she keeps me on my toes. :-) She is my most outspoken and fearless child, my most girly daughter, and my best helper around the house. I pray that this next year of her life will be one of growth–physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Happy birthday, little princess E! We love you very much!
