A look into the life of 3 small kids and their parents

The blushing bride-to-be

My sister-in-law Jill got married yesterday. I will post pictures of that soon (my girls were flower girls, so I have to show them off!) :-)
But first, we had a shower for Jill. Here are a few pictures, and you can read more about it here. It is hard to believe that she is married and off to Boston. At least now I will have an excuse to visit the East Coast!!

In touch with nature

I mentioned before that we had taken the kids to a friend’s farm….it was alot of fun, and good for the kids to be exposed to farm life. (They are slightly afraid of animals for some reason.) Even the baby got up close and personal! :-)
Thanks Kari and Des!

Following in Daddy’s footsteps??

A few weeks ago, Josh had the “privelege” of running a peewee soccer camp for 3-5 yr. olds. He made it through the week, running on Starbucks Double Shots and Diet Pepsi. :-) Big E was able to attend 2 out of 3 days with her daddy, and seemed to enjoy it although she does not have alot of athletic ambition…..we think Middle E will be the one interested in sports. She was also able to attend it with her cousin, which made the days even more special. Josh said that even though she may not have been the most skilled or most competitive, she sure looked good! :-)

I am nothing…..

Today’s Bible verse on my blog was from Job 38. I have loved this passage since I read for my morning devotions while camping on a cliff overlooking the ocean in Alaska one summer. It was breathtaking to read of a God Who “enclosed the sea with doors” and “caused the dawn to know its place” while looking over the indescribable beauty on the inlet that we were visiting.

And as I read over Job 38 and 39 again this afternoon, it was a much-needed reminder of who I am in comparison to my God. I have been aware of my critical spirit and discontentedness lately….what place do I have to criticize others and the circumstances in which I find myself? If I were to view all of this in light of God and His holiness, my mindset would be much different. At one point, Job answers God, “Behold, I am insignificant; what can I reply to You? I lay my hand on my mouth.” When my life does not seem to be going as I think it should, God could say the same things to me as He did to Job. He is in control, and I do not have the right to doubt Him. I hope that I can live with a proper response to this passage, as Job did.

“Out of the north comes golden splendor; around God is awesome majesty. The Almighty–we cannot find Him; He is exalted in power and He will not do violence to justice and abundant righteousness. Therefore men fear Him; He does not regard any who are wise of heart.”

Congratulations, Heather!

Our favorite babysitter graduated this past weekend. We are so proud of her, and so happy that she will still be around for college! :-) The girls adore her–and her little brother. And it seems her little brother liked our newest E….
We also got to see one of my oldest and dearest friends, G-knee and her rekindled flame. :-) (She just happens to be the aunt of our fav babysitter!) Unfortunately, there was not time to hang out with them much. I hope we can all go out for dinner and coffee sometime soon!!! I think it is our time to visit them though. :-)
